Sage Liqueur by Dinapoja

Sage liqueur by Dinapoja is a balanced combination of healing herbs that for many years were considered purely medicinal. Some of the medicinal uses of sage involve the cure of the inflammations and mouth infections. Cretan sage is contrived with thyme, mint, rosemary myrtle leaves and carnation flowers. The great percentage of essential oils of herb leaves and flowers in this exquisite elixir, adds a special touch note to result. In addition, sage liqueur can be drunk as a digestive after the meal or hot with hot tea. It can be used in cooking as a sauce for accompanying the pork.

The philosophy of the liquer production is based on the exploitation of the fruits, without the addition of artificial aromatics, additives and preservatives. In the whole process only organic raw fruits and Cretan herbs are used which are handpicked from the Asterousian Mountains and the nearby villages. After cleaned and washed the juicy fruit and herbs are placed with Cretan traditional tsikoudia into stainless steel tanks. They will remain in tsikoudia for several weeks and the alcohol will gain the substances colors and aromas of the raw materials. Then syrup is added and it remains again in a stainless steel tank for a long period to tie the flavors and tastes. After filtered, the liquer is being bottled.

In Dinapoja Sage Liqueur you might notice a slight turbidity. In such a natural product this turbidity is expected and not in any case is a sign of lower quality.

Note: Maximum order for Cretan liqueur is two bottles for shipments to USA, Canada and countries with strict imported alcohol laws.

The producer

Dinapoja

Dinapoja liqueuers and syrups are made from Cretan tsikoudia, and natural ingredients flowers, fruits and herbs. Dinapoja's cottage industry started as a hobby. Katie Dinapoja's love for nature, fruits, herbs and flowers was the reason. Friends and neighbors offered the fruits from their gardens. Myrtles are growing on their gullies and the local mountains generously provide a big selection of aromatic herbs. Mrs Katie, being an organic farmer for many years, could not resist the colors, flavors and aromas of the Cretan land. So she started experimenting by collecting flowers, herbs and fruits, which she processed to offer in a glass.

In other words, she started making liqueurs, syrups, and in the meantime she flavored sugar and made it sweet, sometimes fragrant and sometimes spicy! Initially, for personal use. Later, to please her friends. However, the great acceptance of her preparations quickly nurtured the ambition of creating homemade products that did not exist in the market till then. Today Dinapoja products are available for all of you who are seeking for something different and special, a unique experience in the world of taste.
