Thyme in jar ILIOSTASIO Cretan Herbs
Thyme is an evergreen herb with culinary, medicinal and ornamental uses.
The infusion is made with 1-2 grams of dried plant. It helps fight cough and colds. Traditionally, thyme is used as a tonic, digestive and antispasmodic, while it has antiseptic properties when used externally.
In cooking, thyme is astringent, intensely aromatic and has a very strong taste. In Greek cuisine it is used as an aromatic spice in meatballs, stuffed, meat, poultry and pies. In general, thyme goes well with meats (chicken, beef, rabbit) which are cooked with tomato and wine sauce, with soups, roasts, sauces and is even used in pastry and bakery.
