Sariki is an integral part of the Cretan attire and culture. In Crete, a white Sariki is traditionally worn in weddings by the groom, the best man and close relatives, and in Christenings by the baby's father and godfather.
Hand-crocheted by Mrs Elli a Cretan woman in the village of Mochos who specializes in the creation of traditional Cretan costumes and handicrafts. Mrs Elli, an expert on the crochet technique, creates the Sariki with love and artistry using the finest threads.
