Description

Megalos Lofos (Cuvee Grande Colline) is a dry white wine with Protected Geographical Indication Crete. It is made of varieties Vilana 60%, Muscat Spinas 30% and Sauvignon Blanc 10%.

It has a clear greenish yellow color. The aromas are subtle fine. Dominating the aromas of flowers and fruits, dominated by pear and exotic fruits. It is a full-bodied wine with excellent balance of flavor and long aftertaste.

Megalos Lofos (Cuvee Grande Colline) is a fabulous accompaniment to all seafood, meat with white sauce and a variety of cheeses.

The proper drinking temperature is 12 - 13 ° C.

Since 2008 until today Megalos Lofos (Cuvee Grande Colline) has won awards in Europe and USA. For example the Mundus Vini 2013, Germany - Silver Medal and Decanter World Wine Awards 2013, UK - Bronze Medal.

The Lyrarakis Winery has been producing high quality wines since 1966 with emphasis on rare Cretan grape varieties. The Lyrarakis family winery has revived ancient Cretan varieties, Dafni and Plyto and Melissaki.

Today, the management of the Lyrarakis Winery has passed to the second generation. The family vineyard covers an area of 140 hectares on calcareous gravelly soils and has an average altitude of 550 meters.

Surrounded by the idyllic setting of the vineyards and the Lassithi mountains the Lyrarakis winery offers the opportunity to visit their estate and enjoy nature and taste Lyrarakis wine varieties.
