Handmade Ceramic Dove (Pigeon)
This handmade ceramic dove is a beautiful ornament that can be hung on the wall or given as a unique gift in weddings or christenings. It can decorate daintily gift boxes with distinctively greek character.
The handmade ceramic doves are made by mrs Eva who specializes on the creation of elegant poterry ornaments. It is produced in two sizes, the small one is 14x11,5 cm and the bigger one is 16x14cm.
If you wish to offer it as a christening or wedding favor, we recommend you to choose the smaller size available. However, if you prefer the bigger one, please contact with us for a special offer.
For thousands of years, doves are considered a symbol of peace and reconciliation all over the world. In ancient Greece the dove was dedicated to Venus, the goddess of love, and it was a common theme in many works of art as it symbolised purity, faith, love and communication. The image of the dove holding the olive branch comes from the Old Testament, where the dove came back to Noah holding an olive branch in his beak informing that the flood had stopped and peace was restored in the world.
