Description

Organic Tsikoudia by Toplou Monastery

Traditional Cretan Tsikoudia Toplou is produced every year after the vine harvest by the monks of Toplou monastery, placed in Siteia Crete. Using grapes of different old local varieties, cultivated in the organic vineyards of the monastery, they create wines and distillates of excellent quality.

Based on their thorough knowledge, they use an ancient method of distillation for the production of the traditional Cretan tsikoudia Toplou in order to maintain its authentic and unique flavor. The grapes are collected from old local varieties and they are fermented in low temperature. When the fermentation is completed, the distillation takes place and it lasts almost 2 months. The result is a refined, full-bodied distillate that has captured the complex flavors and aromas of the grapes.

Traditional Cretan Tsikoudia Toplou is the ideal spirit to enjoy with friends, to offer it as a welcome treat to guests or as a gift to friends and collegues. It is served cold.
